Industry exclusive remote machine diagnostics - JDLink™ Ultimate only

Service ADVISOR™ is the single computer application used by John Deere dealer technicians for current technical information, controller programming, diagnostics, and machine connectivity. Diagnostic codes and CAN bus information stored by the machine is used by service technicians to isolate, identify, and resolve problems.

NOTE: Diagnostics and CAN bus information is not normally used by the operator. Diagnostics should only be performed by a qualified, factory-trained John Deere service technician.

Service ADVISOR allows the John Deere service technician to readily extract this vital information from the machine through the Service ADVISOR data port. In addition, similar to software (payload) updates in the computer industry, Service ADVISOR gives John Deere dealer technicians the ability to update a machine’s onboard software to enhance machine performance. Service ADVISOR diagnostics greatly assist in reducing service costs and downtime.

Service ADVISOR Remote is a feature introduced in the January 2011 update Service ADVISOR™ 4.0. A remote Service ADVISOR connection uses the JDLink™ telematics system to communicate with off-site machines to perform initial diagnostics.

Service ADVISOR Remote also enables John Deere to remotely deliver updated software via the JDLink hardware onboard to enhance machine performance. This capability can be used to reprogram most machine controllers. In certain situations, a remote connection may even eliminate the need for a technician to visit a machine. For example, a technician can remotely reset diagnostic trouble codes or, in some cases, remotely send a software update to a machine.

NOTE: Some vehicle controllers may not be compatible for Service ADVISOR Remote programming.
